Pu-Erh tea is the leaves of the Qingmao tea bush. These tea bushes come from the area around the city of Pu'er in the Chinese province of Yunnan, hence the name Pu-Erh tea. Traditionally, the tea leaves are fermented by external bacteria and yeasts. They are then steamed and pressed into slices, tiles or balls. The tea is left to dry and stored to mature. This gives this tea a dark red color and earthy taste.
